COVID-19 Citizen Science

How many COVID-19 Citizen Scientists are twins?

Twins have a unique ability to help researchers understand the roles that peoples’ genes and environment play in health because twins have very similar or identical genes.

From August 24th, 2021 to September 1st, 2021, we asked our Citizen Scientists if they are a twin.

10,460 participants reported back.

2% of our respondents reported being a twin. Of the twins, 62% reported being a fraternal twin and 35% reported being an identical twin.

None of our Citizen Scientists reported being a triplet or higher-order multiple.

We appreciate your continued participation in the COVID-19 Citizen Science study. Check back soon for an update on this research!
